Many of us dream of success almost every day, I mean success according to your own definition. We fantasise about how we will spend our time and money, the places to visit or the cars to drive or the houses to sleep in. Some think about the people to give to or show off to. It is all happiness and happy endings. In all this, one thing is sure, everyone is looking for some sort of success – in your work place, business, family, school, name it. As you pursue your success in this life, here are some tips. These five laws, if adhered to, will surely place you on this journey of success.(extracts from the Go Giver)


The Law of Value

Your true worth as an individual or business is determined byhow much more you give in value than you take in payment. Focus on adding and giving more value to your customers, than you are actually paid for – make your customers feel they are benefitting more so they can always come back for more. Your customers should never feel like they are not getting value for money or they are being ripped off.


The Law of Compensation

“A business absolutely devoted to service will have only one worry about profits. They will be embarrassingly large” – Henry Ford

If you simply focus on serving more people, then you will have nothing to worry about. Your income is determined byhow many people you serve and how well you serve them.


The Law of Influence 

Consistently investigate what gives other people energy. Be the fan that fuels it and no challenge will stop you. People want to do business with you because you help them get what they want. Your influence is determined byhow abundantly you place other people’s interests first.


 The Law of Authenticity 

The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself. You are unique and different, do not waste your time being someone else or living someone else’s dream. You will only serve best when you are comfortable in your own skin, when you are you. Go live your life, true to yourself, and not based on public opinion or other people’s expectations. Constantly improve who you are to who you want to be rather than aspiring to be that idol of yours.


The Law of Receptivity

The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving. We always have a hard time receiving, and you know, it is sometimes because we are proud, we think we got it!

It is important that we learn the art of receiving, to give joy to the giver. Start with a few things, learn to receive love, a little help and as we spread this joy in others, it goes round.
